THE FRIENDSHIP CLOCK

Inner Harbour, Victoria BC Canada

Built in 1931, Californian Deco Style, served as a gas station – ESSO – until mid 70s

The unveiling of “The Friendship Clock”, now atop the classic, art deco tower of 812 Wharf Street, is a symbol of the friendship that has been built between Victoria and Morioka. It is dedicated to all Victoria’s sister cities. The organizers of this event would like to recognize Mr. Andrei Golovkine for his vision and effort creating the clock, and the Morioka-Victoria Friendship Society in Japan who so generously contributed funds to bring this idea to life
